Perhaps early mornings aren’t for you, for a long time they weren’t for me either. However, after two weeks of setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier, I completely shifted the way I approached my day. Did I ever hit the snooze button? Absolutely. But most days I dedicated those first 15 minutes to reading passages from the following attached literature. The result was a more positive outlook and a calmer mind.

What Does Self Care Look Like To You?
To me, self care translates as being kind to myself. Mental health and wellness is something I have long been passionate about. Therefore, I felt it was time to bring this new category into what Milk & Marigolds has to offer.
When it has been instilled in us to put others before ourselves, self care can sound selfish. However, as the flying metaphor goes, “you need to put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others. ..”
As a teacher and a new mother, the majority of my time & energy is dedicated towards giving. I am well educated on the science behind burnout and as prevention, I teach mindfulness exercises to my students, yet, I don’t practice it enough in my own time. Many of us are working towards getting more creative with our time and with our resources so self care and mindfulness can become a part of our regular routines.
The goal of Milk & Marigolds is to offer simple ways to bring calmness and self-care practices into your daily lives.
