What would your day look like if you gave yourself an extra 15 minutes in the morning? 20 minutes?
Perhaps early mornings aren’t for you, for a long time they weren’t for me either. However, after two weeks of setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier, I completely shifted the way I approached my day. Did I ever hit the snooze button? Absolutely. But most days I dedicated those first 15 minutes to reading passages from the following attached literature. The result was a more positive outlook and a calmer mind.

To me, self care translates as being kind to myself. Mental health and wellness is something I have long been passionate about. Therefore, I felt it was time to bring this new category into what Milk & Marigolds has to offer.

As a teacher and a new mother, the majority of my time & energy is dedicated towards giving.I am well educated on the science behind burnout and as prevention, I teach mindfulness exercises to my students, yet, I don’t practice it enough in my own time. Many of us are working towards getting more creative with our time and with our resources so self care and mindfulness can become a part of our regular routines.
